Bear Fishing Waterfall
Really just hoping a salmon would jump right into its mouth.
Charging The River
While wading in the river below Brooks Falls, Katmai NP with my long zoom lens I was able to capture this bear running after salmon.

Brooks Falls in Katmai NP has many bears that share the territory but once in awhile a bear encroaches on another's fishing station a bit too close.

A late afternoon nap for cubs and mom on small peninsula off of Naknek Lake in Katmai NP.

While at first glance it looks like a fight brewing, these were most likely siblings playing. I watched and photographed them for quite some time as it was obvious they were play fighting.

Bear in Forest
You never know when one of these large brown bears will pop out of the forest. Often, fisherman/women would be surprised as the bears come out of nowhere it seems.

I'm not sure what they thought they were doing but it was all in fun.

Another charge after the elusive salmon. Salmon have a way of slipping away! I was in the river at Brooks Falls hoping to capture this image with my long camera lens.

Another salmon caught to add to this bears growing girth. The bears at Katmai have names and this one was called 747!

Waterfall Fishing
Top of the waterfall at Brooks Falls is a popular spot for fishing as long as you can keep it! Bears have a distinct hierarchy and you can really see it in action at the falls.
